October Reminders
We have now completed just over four full weeks in school and as September draws to a close I would like to extend our thanks to you for supporting both the familiar and the new in our return to routine!
We had another successful ‘Active Week’, the weather played ball, and the children enjoyed walking in the sunshine on Tuesday, beautiful fruit platters on Wednesday and a super European Sports Day today. Heartfelt thanks to Ms Boylan and Ms Daly for coordinating the week, to the PA for supporting us and to all the volunteers who helped along the way!
On Thursday, 27 September, we celebrated our first ‘SNA Appreciation Day’, we are so fortunate to have such a wonderful group of SNAs in OLG. They wear many hats and are so many things to the children, staff and parents in OLG.
We would be lost without these ladies and were delighted to be able to celebrate them.
Finally, some reminders as we head into October:
From next Monday, 30th September homework will begin, and the children should return to wearing their school uniform.
Homework
Teachers will set fortnightly homework (1st - 6th Class). Homework will be on Aladdin as well as in the journals. We encourage the children to plan for their homework so that it is completed before the end of the second week. Parents/Guardians are requested to support their child/ren in setting them up for their homework on nights that suit the family.
Uniform
2nd to 6th Classes:
• Trousers/Skirt/Pinafore/Jumper/black generic runners/blue shirt/check shirt
• Tracksuit on PE days/NO SHORTS
• Children attending an OLG sporting activity directly after school may wear tracksuit to school
1st Class:
• Tracksuit/no shorts/black generic runners
Junior & Senior Infant Classes:
• Comfortable clothes and appropriate footwear
• Tracksuit may be worn on PE days/not compulsory
Absences and Playdate Arrangements
• Notify the Class Teacher that your child is absent and give the reason via Aladdin
• For a change in collection or a playdate arrangement send note via Aladdin
Admissions 2025-26
The Admissions Policy and the Annual Notice are posted on our website. The Admission Process opens on 1 October and closes on 31 October.
