End of Term Communication From Mrs Kernan
Children, Parents, and Staff,
It's been a very action-packed final few weeks of term with tours, sports days, treats and concerts.
We wish our 6th classes and their families a memorable Graduation on Thursday evening.
There are a number of teachers who will not be returning in September. I know you will join with me in thanking each of these teachers for all they have done in OLG and in particular for their care of the children.
Mr Rooney, 2nd Class Room 8, a newly qualified teacher, completed his Droichead programme this year and is all set for his trip to Australia. Hugh, we wish you a great adventure!
Ms Boland, 4th Class Room 12, a newly qualified teacher, completed her Droichead programme as well. Colette is off to Germany in a few weeks. Colette, we wish you a wonderful trip.
Ms Hickey, is taking a well-deserved career break after six years of dedication to the children who relished their time in her class.
Fiona's musical and singing talent will be hugely missed. We wish Fiona all the best next year and no doubt she will be back on a visit.
Benjamin Franklin once said that "if you want something done, ask a busy person." Well Ms Byrne has been a very busy member of staff since 2009. Niamh, thank you so much for your leadership, your work ethic and your love of the children in OLG.
Niamh has been commuting every day. It's now time for her to relocate closer to home. Niamh will be an enormous loss to OLG. Niamh we wish you every success with your future plans.
By now, the boys and girls are planning their summers. Between the Summer Programme, Fun Fortnight, Gas Summer Camp and Crafty Kids Art Camp, there’s lots of fun to be had on the campus this summer. We wish all of the camp providers the very best of luck with the different camps.
The Board, PA, staff and children extend a sincere word of thanks to Sylvia and Tomas who work so hard to meet the needs of all of us. We really appreciate your patience and commitment throughout this past year.
The staff and I wish your family a restful and enjoyable time together during the summer holidays. It has been a very successful and productive year. Now it’s time for the children to hang out and get bored!
On a personal note, I wish to thank each and every one of you: children, parents, colleagues, PA members and Board members. It has been my absolute pleasure to serve you for the past nine years.
