A Few Words from our Principal
It is hard to believe that we have completed our second full week of school! We are all delighted to welcome all our families, old and new and hope that everyone is settling back into routines.
Today was our first whole school assembly of the year. The Junior Infants joined us and performed ‘Into School and Down We Sit’. This long-standing tradition in OLG always marks the year as being officially in motion!
We also shared a story ‘All Are Welcome Here’. This book finishes with a lovely message: ‘You have a space here. You have a place here. All are welcome here.’
OLG is a special community and every September we spend time working with children on settling back into good practices, reminding them to think about ways they can make everyone feel welcome and safe in our school. Encouraging kindness, respect and good behaviour helps to ensure that all will have a successful year of teaching, learning and fun ahead.
